Brighton contrata defensor do Leeds, Pascal Struijk
Brighton have announced the signing of former Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk for approximately £20 million. The player has signed a five-year contract and brings valuable Premier League experience to the team.

Brighton have confirmed the signing of Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £20 million. The 26-year-old defender, whose contract at Elland Road was due to expire at the end of the 2026-27 season, has agreed a five-year deal with the Seagulls.

Struijk arrived at Leeds in January 2018 from Ajax and quickly made a name for himself in the first team, racking up 196 appearances, including 34 in the Premier League last season. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler commented on the signing: "Pascal is exactly the type of profile we wanted to add to the squad this summer, as he has good Premier League experience and is still in his prime. He really showed what he is capable of last season - great defensive actions and comfortable with the ball at his feet - his style fits well with ours. Furthermore, he is a leader, having worn the captain's armband in some of Leeds' matches last season. He is an excellent addition to the group and I am looking forward to working with him."
It's worth remembering that Brighton sold defender Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham for £52 million earlier in this transfer window.
