Carragher talks about Liverpool's chances in the next championship


Former Liverpool and England player Jamie Carragher has commented on Liverpool's prospects for next season under new manager Andoni Iraola. In an interview, Carragher said: "Can Liverpool fight for the title? Yes. The times when a coach arrived and worked on a four- to five-year project to win the championship are over. I had already said this when Slot arrived. Under Jürgen Klopp, the team finished in third place and then was charged with a title, which actually happened. This also applies to Iraola. Last season, Liverpool finished in fifth place — that is far from the level the team should present. So I don't expect a Premier League win next season, but we are Liverpool: in the summer we will invest a lot, we have a lot of quality players, so we will fight," said Carragher, as reported by Sky Sports.
