Claudio Pasqualin: "It's the Olise World Cup. Italy, Count on the resumption. Milan, what a mess. It's between the tragic and the comical"
Claudio Pasqualin discusses the 2026 World Cup, expressing concerns about Italy's absence and praising France and Olise. He criticizes Milan's management and suggests Conte as coach.
The team that impressed me most was France, where Olise surprised me: regardless of the number of goals from Messi and Mbappé, he continues to be the revelation of this World Cup. This was stated by Claudio Pasqualin, lawyer and president of AvvocatiCalcio, in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.com.
He evaluates the World Cup as "hypertrophic", expressing dissatisfaction with the current formula which, according to him, will be replicated in the future. "I feel a great nostalgia for the World Cup of old and it saddens me to see that my grandchildren's generation has not yet seen Italy in a World Cup."
Pasqualin mentions the frustration with the Italian team's absence from the tournament: "It's difficult not to feel a certain amount of discouragement. You don't get used to this situation. The discontent is constant because we don't have Italy here."
Regarding Malagò's figure, he states: "He is active and was born to play this type of role. His life has always been focused on this and he has already occupied the highest positions in the sport, it is only right that he directs the process at this moment."
As for the future of the Italian national team, Pasqualin suggests Conte as the most viable solution: "He seems to be the most credible and respected option."
Regarding Serie A, he criticizes Milan's management, which is currently under the responsibility of Cardinale. "He does everything, but I don't think he has great competence on the sporting side. And Ibrahimovic's position is between the tragic and the comical; he doesn't have managerial qualities and it's not clear what he does."
