Midfielder Arda Guler stands out as one of the few players who has truly escaped criticism following Real Madrid's failures over the last two years. The Turkish international has gradually improved his game, becoming a regular starter in the Merengue team and avoiding getting involved in controversies, even in the face of so many difficulties in the white dressing room last season. Last season, he had one of his best performances for Real, scoring two goals in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. As a result, many expectations were placed on him, especially after leading Turkey back to the World Cup. Unfortunately, his team was eliminated from the competition shortly after suffering two defeats in their group stage games. No doubt Guler must have been devastated by this failure. However, there is a positive side to this early elimination. As Diario AS noted, he could face a crucial 2026-27 season at Real Madrid, and this early departure from the World Cup will allow him to join pre-season training early, giving him an advantage over some of his teammates. Turkey has one last game in the World Cup, against the United States, on June 25th, and after that date, the midfielder will go on vacation. So, depending on the length of his vacation, he can join the training sessions that begin on July 13th, at the end of the first week or at the beginning of the second. Next season, he will need to compete with a midfielder as complete as Bernardo Silva and adapt to new coach José Mourinho. Being able to join training before most of the other first-team players would, without a doubt, be a great opportunity for Arda Guler to show his qualities to the new Real Madrid boss and start the new season on the right foot.
