The USA are ahead of Australia in the World Cup after yet another own goal, which marks the seventh such goal of the tournament so far.

Folarin Balogun was released on the left, and his dangerous cross towards goal was deflected by the hapless Cameron Burgess. This goal means that "Gol Contra" is now tied with the Monaco striker for the team's top scorer in the first two matches. Burgess's own goal also marks a remarkable seventh goal of its kind in the tournament so far after 28-and-a-half games, with the 2018 record in sight as there are still 75 games left to be played.
