Harry Kane decides to stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Barcelona
Harry Kane decided to stay at Bayern Munich, prioritizing the extension of his contract after the World Cup, despite harassment from Barcelona.
German journalist Christian Falk stated that Harry Kane has made a definitive decision about his future, choosing to remain at Bayern Munich, despite interest from Barcelona. The England captain is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career, having scored 72 goals for club (61) and country (11), including a decisive performance this week, where he scored two goals that helped England beat Mexico and secure a place in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Given his exceptional form, Barça explored the possibility of signing the Englishman, but it appears that Kane has decided to remain in Germany. Although Barcelona's priority is Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, the Catalans have been evaluating possible long-term replacements for Robert Lewandowski for months. Kane is seen as one of the most attractive options due to his experience, goalscoring record and proven ability to perform at a high level.

The La Liga champions recently contacted the player's representatives to understand his situation and see if he would consider a move to Spotify Camp Nou after the World Cup. Barcelona's interest was genuine and discussions were held to explore the possibility of a transfer. However, Kane has no intention of leaving Bayern Munich this season. Instead, the England international's priority is to renew his contract with the Bavarians, which currently runs until June 2027. Both player and club have agreed to delay renewal talks until after the World Cup to avoid unnecessary distractions. Falk reports that Kane plans to negotiate exclusively with Bayern once the tournament is over, showing no interest in offers from other clubs, effectively closing the door on Barcelona and other potential suitors.
Barcelona are also not willing to divert their attention from their main transfer target. As club president Joan Laporta recently confirmed, the Catalan giants remain focused on trying to sign Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, and the outcome of that effort will shape the rest of their summer transfer strategy. Only if negotiating for the Argentine proves impossible will Barcelona reevaluate alternative options. Even so, it appears that Kane is now unlikely to be among them after making it clear that his future remains in Munich.
