Inter lead race with Como for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah
Trevoh Chalobah's agents are in talks with Inter and Como, and Inter are favorites to sign the Chelsea defender as both clubs look to bolster their defenses for the Champions League.
Trevoh Chalobah's agents are in Italy to hold talks with Inter and Como, but the latest updates suggest that Inter have the upper hand in the race to sign Chelsea's England international. Here's why.
Inter have already had encounters with Chelsea and Como this summer: the Londoners beat the Nerazzurri to the signing of Italian talent Marco Palestra in June. Although Cristian Chivu's team considered reinvesting the funds they had set aside to sign the right-back in Nico Paz, the Argentine decided to renew with Como, at least for the 2026-27 season.
The three clubs are once again linked by defender Chalobah, who has attracted interest from both Como and Inter this summer, both looking for defensive reinforcements for their respective Champions League campaigns in 2026-27.

According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Como have already had discussions with Chelsea over the possible signing of Chalobah, while Corriere dello Sport claim that an offer of €30 million, including bonuses, has been rejected. Both Inter and Como are aware that Chelsea are seeking a €35 million package, with at least €30 million in guaranteed fees.
Various reports suggest that Como are unlikely to meet these demands in the near future, especially after spending €60 million on re-signing Nico Paz. A further €14 million was spent on signing Kaiki, and Cesc Fabregas is hoping to reinforce other areas of the squad, which makes Chalobah a slightly expensive option.
On the other hand, Inter are yet to spend the €50 million they were willing to invest in Palestra, and with Denzel Dumfries set to move to Real Madrid for €20 million, the resources are available to close a deal with Chelsea and potentially Union Saint-Gilloise for striker Anan Khalaili.
The latest updates from Calciomercato.com indicate that Chalobah's agents have given their 'approval' to the idea of a move to Inter, following recent talks in recent days.
