American influencer SteveWillDoIt won a 2 million dollar bet on the team's success and, in gratitude, presented all the team's players with a Rolex watch. However, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) quickly intervened. In a mutual agreement, the players decided to return the expensive gifts to the content creator to comply with international regulations. Article 20 of the FIFA Code of Ethics strictly prohibits athletes from receiving high-value gifts. Failure to comply with this rule could expose the Mexican team to heavy financial fines or, in the worst case scenario, the suspension of its players mid-tournament.
