Liverpool prepares big bid for World Cup star as Mohamed Salah replacement
Liverpool are ready to make a significant £86m bid for RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, targeting him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. The club is also close to signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna. Diomande, who recently impressed in the World Cup game in which Ivory Coast defeated Ecuador, is a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are also interested in him.

New manager Andoni Iraola is trying to complete a £120m striker deal after agreeing to sign Osasuna's Victor Munoz for £34m. Now, Liverpool have turned their attention to Ivory Coast's Diomande as they prepare a package worth around €100 million.
Yan Diomande is one of Europe's most promising young talents. However, Liverpool face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are also interested in the player, while Leipzig are hoping to receive at least €130 million for the 19-year-old. Diomande, who made a standout World Cup debut, helping Côte d'Ivoire beat Ecuador 1-0, joined Leipzig last year for €20 million from Leganés.
Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga, helping Leipzig secure a place in the Champions League. While Munoz is seen as a versatile striker who can play in multiple attacking positions, Diomande could act more as a replacement for Salah on the right.
With an investment of £86 million, Diomande would become the third most expensive signing in the club's history, behind only the arrivals of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak last summer. Liverpool have prioritized signing strikers in this transfer market, with the departure of Salah, the likely departure of Federico Chiesa and the absence of Hugo Ekitike at the start of next season. The club has signed Leipzig players in the past, such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita.
