The transfer was fully agreed between the clubs and the player's agents, according to information from renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social networks. Ter Stegen, 34, will join Ajax on loan until the summer of 2027. According to the source, the majority of the goalkeeper's salary will be paid by the Dutch club. He has defended Barcelona's colors since 2014 and had a period on loan at Girona in the second half of the 2025/2026 season, but due to an injury, he participated in just two matches. Ajax will compete in the Conference League next season.
