Mbappé sets historic record at World Cup

The captain of the French team, Kylian Mbappé, shone again when he scored a goal in France's 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. With this goal, Mbappé set an unprecedented statistical record in the history of World Cups. According to information from ESPN, he became the only player to score three or more goals in playoffs in three of the most prestigious international national team competitions. So far, Kylian had already scored three goals in the 2018 World Cup playoffs, five in the 2022 edition and now he has three in just two games in this edition.
