Messi doesn't rule out World Cup 2030: "I don't know, I'm not thinking about it for now"
Lionel Messi, at 39 years old, does not rule out the possibility of participating in the 2030 World Cup, stating that he is focused on the present and that he will honor his contract with Inter Miami until 2028.
At 39 years old, Lionel Messi is still focused on achieving big goals, including the possibility of winning another World Cup after his success in 2022. The Argentine star has already found the net five times in this World Cup, in just two matches, and currently leads the tournament's artillery.
Many believe that this will be Messi's last World Cup, but he, surprisingly, was not so sure about his absence from the 2030 edition. "I don't know. The truth is that I don't think about it at the moment. It seems a little far away... but, as I said, I live day by day and I focus on the present", declared Messi.
His contract with Inter Miami is valid until December 2028, and he intends to honor it, as long as he feels in good physical shape. "I will continue for a certain time, as long as I can contribute, feeling well physically and helping my teammates... I will continue playing", stated the Argentine idol.
If he participates in the 2030 World Cup, Messi will be 43 years old (turning in June). Argentina is at his feet, having scored 100% of Scaloni's team's goals so far in the World Cup.
