Rapid Bucharest announced Mario Nicolae as their new sporting director, a professional with extensive experience at several clubs, including Vejle Boldklub.
Rapid Bucharest, a club owned by Dan Sucu, who also owns Genoa, has officially hired Mario Nicolae as its new sporting director. Nicolae, who previously served as sporting director at Dinamo and Vejle, is known for discovering and promoting Prostvgaard, who was later sold to Lazio. The club's statement highlights: "Our club strengthens its sporting structure with the addition of Marius Adrian Nicolae, who takes on the role of new Head of Recruitment and Loans Manager. Throughout his career, Nicolae has accumulated extensive professional experience, holding the position of sporting director at clubs such as Universitatea Cluj, Dinamo Bucarest, Guangzhou R&F, Petrolul Ploiești and Vejle Boldklub, where he was at the head of the sporting sector between 2021 and 2025. Nationally, he facilitated the transfer of several international players who had a significant impact on the championship.
