Real Madrid must pay Benfica €15 million for Mourinho
Real Madrid notified Benfica of its intention to pay a €15 million fine for signing José Mourinho, a value that increased by €7 million.

Real Madrid informed Benfica that it intends to pay €15 million towards coach José Mourinho's contractual fine next week. The information was released by the Record newspaper. Previously, the clubs had reached a consensus on the transfer of the Portuguese coach, and Madrid were willing to pay €7 million. However, since June, the termination amount rose to €15 million, and the delay in the transfer was due to the Merengue club's presidential elections. On Wednesday, June 3, Real president Florentino Pérez announced live that, with his re-election, the first signings would be Mourinho and Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté.
