England fans in Texas for the World Cup have embraced American culture, visiting a shooting range in Dallas for an experience they say "we don't get in England." The DFW Gun Range and Academy, in Dallas, has become the meeting point for fans of different teams since the start of the World Cup. Carlos Castaneda, one of the site's employees, said that the number of visitors has increased significantly in recent days, coinciding with the arrival of English fans.

Matthew Connell, 28, from Preston, commented that the stand was "packed with English fans". "It's been hot, really hot. It's full of English fans here. You can tell they've all come here to experience this because it's something we don't have in England and it's really good," he said. Connell also highlighted that the grandeur of Dallas and the surrounding area, which hosts the World Cup, has caused fans to spread out across the region, rather than congregating in one location. "There's so much to do and it's all so spread out here, and Dallas is such a big place – everyone is everywhere," he explained.

He highlighted that this trip highlighted the cultural differences between the United States and England. "Even if you look at America and think it's quite similar to England, it's a huge culture change. The size of the cars, for example, the big SUVs that they drive. And the whole gun culture – here, the way everyone talks about it, it's so normal to them and it's like, wow."

Commenting on his experience at the stand, Connell said: "You quickly realize it's very different to video games, all the little intricacies of it, but yeah, it's really good – I would recommend it to anyone who was here." Asked if he would like similar access to guns in Britain, he replied: "No, I think we're fine without them."

Castaneda mentioned that the World Cup brought an influx of international visitors. “The last few days have been busy – Dutch, Japanese and now British,” he said. "It's fun – it's like a little multicolor conga. It feels like we're hosting a big gathering."

He also commented on the number of English fans he saw. "Over the last two days we've noticed an increase. On Saturday and Sunday there were a lot of Dutch and Japanese, and now on Monday we're starting to see a lot more Brits. But today it's been nothing but Brits."

Castaneda declined to comment on how the England fans had fared on the stand, saying: "There's no comparison, everyone starts somewhere, there's no judgement. But in terms of personality, as customers, you've been just phenomenal. Very, very nice people, lots of questions and answers, very informative too."

He explained that people from all over the world view the shooting range from "different perspectives." "They come here and it's like a hobby, a recreation. It's no different for us than going to Topgolf, or a driving range, or doing other types of recreational sports. But yes, different people, different lives.
