Cruzeiro prepares to release Walace: ex-Udinese man goes to Vitória

Cruzeiro is preparing to get rid of Walace, who is expected to be loaned to Vitória until the end of the season. However, this operation will not allow the club to fully recover the investments made in the former Udinese midfielder. Wallace, who was out of the technical project since April due to internal problems and was never reinstated in the squad, is now on his way to the new club. The agreement provides that Cruzeiro will continue to pay 50% of the player's salary, while the remainder will be paid by Vitória.


In addition to Walace, similar situations involve Gabigol, who is currently on loan at Santos. The striker, who arrived in Belo Horizonte in January 2025 with high expectations, had a salary of more than 2.5 million reais per month, including bonuses and prizes. With the departure of Fernando Diniz, who used him as a starter, Gabigol lost space with Leonardo Jardim, ending his spell with 49 games, 13 goals and four assists. The demand from fans increased after a missed penalty in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil.

Another case that draws attention is that of Dudu. The former Palmeiras player had just 17 games and two goals before his early separation, which occurred after public criticism of the coach over the lack of minutes on the field. Even after the termination, Cruzeiro continued paying Dudu's wages until the end of the contract, totaling around 15 million reais, while the player had already transferred to Atlético Mineiro.
