Feyenoord announced the signing of its first two reinforcements for the season: midfielder Charles Vanhoutte, arriving from OGC Nice, and striker Nacho Ferri, who arrives from KVC Westerlo. The total investment for these acquisitions is around eight million euros.

With the arrival of Ferri and Vanhoutte, Feyenoord's new technical director, Dévy Rigaux, is preparing for some changes to the squad. There are rumors that the club is open to releasing players such as midfielders Inbeom Hwang and Jakub Moder. Ferri's transfer could be linked to the possible departure of striker Ayase Ueda, who is currently competing in the World Cup with Japan.

The quick negotiations to bring in Vanhoutte and Ferri give Rigaux precious time to plan outgoing transfers. The Belgian technical director needs to sell players before making new acquisitions, both for reasons of space in the squad and financial necessity. The expectation is that right-back Givairo Read, who has attracted the attention of big clubs such as Bayern Munich, will be one of the next to leave the club.

Furthermore, Anis Hadj Moussa is also being monitored by renowned clubs such as Olympique de Marseille and LOSC Lille. Benfica had already shown interest in the player in the last transfer window. Depending on his performance at the World Cup, the curiosity surrounding him could increase.

Feyenoord are also evaluating the situation of Sami Ouaissa, who is on the list to replace Hadj Moussa, but the striker must be patient. He has already spoken to former coach Robin van Persie, but has not yet had contact with Van Bronckhorst. Ouaissa presented himself to the NEC for the start of pre-season and hopes that negotiations will resume once Rigaux manages to make some sales.
