Bayern Munich confirmed the signing of Moroccan striker Ismael Saibari, from PSV, in one of the main deals of the European summer. The 25-year-old, who has excelled at the World Cup, signed a long-term contract with the German giants, who moved quickly to secure one of European football's most coveted talents.

Saibari signed a contract that runs until June 2031, linking his future to the Allianz Arena. In a statement on Bayern's official website, sports council member Max Eberl expressed his satisfaction: "We are very happy to secure the services of Ismael Saibari, one of the most exciting strikers at the World Cup. Transfers like this do not happen overnight, but are the result of long-term planning: the key factor was that we made our position clear to him from the beginning, as we were aware of Ismael's abilities and were able to show a clear future with us from the beginning. Ismael Saibari will bring quality and unpredictability to our attack."

Although Bayern has not officially disclosed the transfer price, the deal represents a significant investment in the team. According to Bild, the fixed amount is around €50 million and can reach €52 million with performance bonuses. This puts the Moroccan among the most expensive signings in the club's history, alongside stars such as Harry Kane and Matthijs de Ligt.

Sporting director Christoph Freund highlighted the player's pedigree, stating: "Ismael Saibari has won the Dutch league title with Eindhoven three times in a row, has Champions League experience and is now showing how valuable he can be to a World Cup team at the highest level. He is versatile, intense and bold in his game, he has the hunger we want to see from FC Bayern and his goal threat and mentality will strengthen the team. The fans come to the stadium for players like him."

Saibari arrives in Munich after a period full of achievements in the Netherlands. During his time at PSV, he registered 42 goals and 29 assists, helping the club to three league titles and being named Dutch Footballer of the Year in his final season at Eindhoven. His form has also translated to the international stage, where he has been instrumental for Morocco in their current World Cup campaign in North America. The striker has already left his mark on the tournament, scoring goals against Brazil, Scotland and Haiti. Most notably, he converted the decisive penalty in the shootout victory over the Netherlands in the round of 16.

With 34 appearances and 12 goals for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations-winning side, Saibari is widely regarded as one of the most clinical finishers emerging from the continent. The player himself admitted that the chance to work under Kompany was a major factor in his decision to move to the Bundesliga. "As a child, you dream of signing a contract with a club like FC Bayern - everyone knows it is one of the biggest clubs in the world. FC Bayern competes for the biggest titles like the Champions League every year, and I want to win as many trophies as possible here. FC Bayern's style of play suits me, I can play my own style of football here, and I will work hard everydays to help the team. Coach Vincent Kompany played a crucial role in my decision - I'm looking forward to working with him.
