Inter could sign a contract with Marco Palestra next week
Inter are close to finalizing the transfer of Atalanta's Marco Palestra, with negotiations expected to be completed next week. Despite interest from English clubs, Palestra is eager to join Inter.
Serie A side Inter have been working hard to secure the signature of Atalanta's Marco Palestra in recent weeks. After several setbacks, the transfer appears to be getting closer to completion. The website Get Italian Football News reported that the full-back has shown interest in joining the Nerazzurri, ignoring offers from clubs in England.
According to Corriere dello Sport, it is possible that the agreement will be sealed as early as next week. In fact, there can be progress even today. Inter director Beppe Marotta will travel to Rome today, where the election of a new federal president is scheduled for tomorrow. Luca Percassi and other representatives from Serie A clubs will also be present on the same agenda. Thus, there could be new contacts between Inter and Atalanta during tonight's dinner.

Regardless, the two clubs are expected to begin formal negotiations early next week, and Inter intend to align differences in valuation. Directors Piero Ausilio and Cristiano Giuntoli will be at the table again. Including a percentage of the player's future sale could be key to reaching a definitive agreement.
Palestra is confident, waiting for the call to rush to Milan to undergo medical tests and sign a five-year contract worth just under €3 million. The expectation is that an agreement will be reached soon between the clubs, and the player and his team have worked to ensure that negotiations continue along the desired path, making life much easier for Inter. He was even considered to move to England, but Palestra decided to take control of his destiny, refusing offers from Manchester City and Chelsea.
