More than a club, by Hèctor Coca
FC Barcelona continues to reap successes in various sports while attention is focused on the World Cup, highlighting achievements in handball and basketball.

While the sporting focus is on the World Cup, things are happening at Barça. After lifting the handball Champions League in Cologne a few days ago, Xavi Pascual's basketball team continues its attempt to win the Endesa league. At the fortress of the Roig Arena, Blaugrana basketball completed a worthy game this Thursday and doubled the local team after a passionate extra time (112-113). There is still a long way to go, but the final series is in favor and can be resolved in Palau. In parallel, the first futsal team overwhelmingly defeated El Pozo Murcia 6-1 and is one victory away from winning the League. Javi Rodríguez's team now travels to Murcia, where they will have two opportunities to seal the League. Flick's Barça LaLiga and all the trophies won by Barça in women's football (including the Champions League) are left behind. Except for the hockey of Ricard Ares, who did not qualify for the final playoffs of the League, but who came close to touching European glory in Coímbra, the professional sections of the Azulgrana club will complete a great season. Barça will end 2025-2026 by reaching its 50 European Cups throughout its history among all sections. Without a doubt, an immeasurable number that reflects the greatness of the club and its multi-sport vocation. Meanwhile, in Madrid, Florentino Pérez faces his 'nadapletes' by dismantling the structure of his professional football and basketball sections. And it does so with a clear vocation for the future: bringing back Mourinho and Juan Carlos Sánchez to try to make their only two disciplines competitive again.
